eBay Find of the Day: #28 2015 Camaro COPO with Supercharged 350

You can thank Holley and the upcoming LS Fest for this, but we’ve got some major COPO fever here at GM EFI. The Battle at the Green, sponsored by Lingenfelter and the School of Automotive Machinists (SAM), is basically going to be the COPO showdown of the century in September at LS Fest in Bowling Green, Kentucky. While we’re not exactly ready to compete, that hasn’t stopped us from daydreaming and keeping an eye out for COPOs on the market.

When this one popped up on eBay, we immediately put in a request to our parent company, AutoCentric Media, to buy it for the GM EFI garage — since they’ve not returned our calls (or texts, Facebook messages, emails, etc.), we’ll share it in the meantime.

As you probably already know, the 2015 Camaro COPO was a very limited production car, just like all of the COPOs. This particular example is #28-of-69 built, and is clad with the Collector Package and supercharged 350. The seller auctioned off this car’s evil twin, #41-of-69, last month, and it pulled in $137,900, $100 less than the asking price of this particular one.

This package is the top power package on the COPOs with a supercharged 350ci. LSX V-8 under the hood. The 530 horsepower, 2.9L Whipple-supercharged engine is backed by a TH400, making it the 1/4-mile car of our dreams. As it sits, this is a track-ready, dragstrip-regulated 9-second 1/4-mile car right out of the gate.

Outside of just the sheer, raw power of the COPO, it’s a all-bustiness race car. It has a wheelie bar, a roll cage, full NHRA safety equipment, and other mouth-watering racing components — all sitting on a solid rear axle system. Sadly, like all of the modern COPOs, it’s not a street legal car; it doesn’t even have a VIN, so no taking it on causal Sunday morning cruises. If you’re interested, you can check it out here, and if you’re a COPO owner (or future COPO owner) heading to LS Fest this year, let us know!
