On December 13th, Momentum Auto Group Motorsports held their first Camaro Clinic at Momentum Chevrolet in San Jose, CA. This clinic featured the Chevrolet Performance 3.91 rear gearing coupled with the ZL1 short shifter as an install in to the Camaro SS platform, as well as a selection of other components such as the Z/28 cold-air induction kit and ZL1 brake upgrade for V6 and SS. Chevrolet Performance reps were also on-hand, taking center stage discussing these upgrades and the features and benefits of using them together.CAMAROCLINIC-4

Attendees had an opportunity to get a wealth of information from Chevrolet Performance’s Jeff James, that really opened a lot of eyes to the amount of options that are available for the Camaro from Chevrolet Performance. Momentum Chevrolet installed the 3.91 gearing and the ZL1 short throw shifter into a Camaro SS that they had in their inventory, and made it available for test drives. At the end of the event a couple of the driving instructors for Speed-Dynamics, who are the provider for the Momentum Auto Group Motorsports track days took that Camaro SS for a test drive.

They were amazed at the increase of performance with the Quick-Accel kit that was installed. So much so they’ve requested to have that car present at their Performance Driving Clinic on December 20th at Thunderhill Raceway Park, to do an on-track review of the car discussing its potential. So if you’re a 5th-Gen owner, don’t forget to attend!

Special thanks to Jeff James at Chevrolet Performance, the team at Speed-Dynamics, our friends at CamaroNews.com for the tip, and all who attended our first Camaro Clinic. Stay tuned for an upcoming series from GM EFI, where we take a closer look at the complete line of 5th-Gen goodies from the Chevrolet Performance catalog.
